During these unprecedented times, Kastelli Resort operated regularly and our team tried its best, taking all the necessary steps to deliver the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, ensuring our guests enjoy a worry-free stay and we promise to keep doing so over the upcoming season.

Recognizing the ongoing and increased uncertainty that COVID-19 has caused around the world, please be assured that our highest priority is and will always be the health and well-being of our guests and employees.

We have executed measures in all our departments, approved by safety experts. Execution of some of these measures may alter the availability of some services. This is to ensure that our guests, employees and suppliers can continue to enjoy our resort without any worries, reducing the risks of infection by Coronavirus to a minimum.


1. Health inspection certificates

We have followed the health protocol against the Covid-19, according to Greek Tourism Organization. 
Our hotel cleaning and sanitizing processes have been adapted to current needs, minimizing the risk of spreading Covid-19, and are inspected, tested and confirmed by certificated company.


2. Upgraded cleaning & sanitizing protocols

Our hotel follow cleaning protocols based on medical practices approved by the World Health Organization.
    • Surface cleaning in common areas – the reception, lobby, corridors, restrooms, restaurants and other hotel common areas are sanitized in line with protocols, products and medical frequency.
    • Room sanitizing – we use technology and highly effective cleaning products on all surfaces and clinically proven protocols for laundering textiles. Decorative fabrics, room folders and mini bar products are removed from our staff for safety reasons. The check in time is amended to 15.00pm and the check out to 11.00 am, in order to take place the appropriate cleaning protocol in each room.
    • Kitchen and utensil sterilization – using cleaning products and practices in line with hospital protocols.
    • Cleaning guest room- The guest should inform us, upon arrival how often is needed to be cleaned the room during the stay(daily or once per stay etc)


3. Food & Beverage services tailored to the current situation

To minimize risks, we have adapted our processes for ordering, preparing, delivering, consuming for food & beverage services in the property..
    • Supplier certification – we follow the strictest safety protocols in delivery processes.
    • Room service and take out products – our restaurants and room service follow strict safety protocols and are only offering products on the menu.
    • Adapted meeting and event catering – with new presentation options which minimize the risk of infection.
    • All the meals during this period will be served under the a la carte basis( the buffet will not operate, until we are sure that there is a 100% safe procedure)


4. Social distancing rules

Our hotel is following all protocols to enable the social distance required when interacting with others.
    • Safety signage – we have created special signage in all common areas of hotels to remind everyone of the need to maintain a safe distance.
    • Redesign of common areas – furniture has been moved, in line with new legislation, to help guests maintain social distance.
    • Support from staff – to help guests apply these measures in all areas.


5. Personal protection equipment & protocols

We offer safety equipment to all our guests, staff and suppliers during their stay.
    • Safety and sanitizing equipment for guests – access to sanitizing gel, masks and gloves during their stay.
    • Employee protection – all hotel employees have access to the equipment needed to do their work with maximum health guarantees.
    • Equipment required for suppliers – all suppliers accessing the hotel must follow the required safety measures.


6. Water purifying & air quality protocols

We are following the strictest purification and sanitizing standards for ventilation and air-conditioning systems and for purifying water and pools.
    • Air quality – we are increasing the frequency of inspections for ventilation systems and decontamination protocols.
    • Water sanitizing – we are following updated standards for sanitizing drinking water and revised protocols for waste-water treatment.
    • Pools– we are introducing new, more frequent, water sanitizing protocols(some of the small swimming pools will not operate for health and safety reasons)
    • Swimming- depending on the pool size, our personnel inform about the number of the swimmers who will be able to swim on the same time.
    • Sun loungers- The property provide for free fresh towels washed under the appropriate temperatures, in order to be used from each guest covering all the surface of the sun lounger. After the usage, the sun lounger is disinfected. 
 

7. Wellness Center

Our property taking under consideration all the health protocols, needs to reorganize the operation of the wellness center
    • The gym will not operate in order to respect the social distancing rules
    • Kastelli Spa Center will be able to welcome one guest per appointment who will be able to use the spa center only for treatment. The rest of the facilities as sauna, steam room and indoor Jacuzzi, according to the protocol should be out of use. After the treatment, the cabin will remain closed for one hour in order to be disinfected by highly effective cleaning products on all surfaces


8. Outdoor concierge services 

We provide outdoor concierge services to all our guests, regarding the safe services around the island of Santorini.
    • Information on health facilities – we are including details and contact information on local hospitals and pharmacies.
    • Transportation and delivery options – with recommendations based on safety measures tailored to local guidance.
    • Services available in our property – e.g. safe food & beverage services in our hotel under special request..
 

9. Health & Safety protocols for employees

For added safety, all our staff must meet the health requirements for working.
    • Daily screening – staff will undergo screening before and after their shifts.
    • Early detection protocols – and action plans in case of guest health concerns, with the option of isolation, protective equipment, contact with medical services and transportation logistics.
    • Special staff training – on following safety protocols and practices tailored to health regulations.


10. Hotel Health/ Safety Manager

We have a health & safety manager in Santorini Kastelli Resort, with expertise in introducing new measures and in training all employees.
    • Introduction of measures – responsible for introducing and updating the measures needed.
    • Employee training – trains all employees on the procedures needed to protect other employees, guests and suppliers.
    • Responsible for impact – responsible for using the highest possible level of Eco-responsibility in all new practices.


11. Cooperative Doctor

Our property cooperates with a Doctor (well trained and certificated also for COVID-19 cases), who is responsible for any possible case of our in house guests 24/7.


12. Transfer Services

All the transfer which are arranged through our concierge department before the arrival or as an in-house guest, will take place under the health and safety regulations.
    • Maximum number of guests -depending on the vehicle
    • Appropriate cleaning procedure -of the vehicle before and after the service
